Named in honor of the owner’s mother, this 5,140 deeded-acre property in San Ignacio, Guadalupe County, southwest of Santa Rosa, NM represents part of a large, unfragmented region of ranchland and open space comprised of US Bureau of Land Management, New Mexico State Trust lands and privately-owned ranches. It is diverse in culture, flora, fauna and land ownerships. Artifacts uncovered on the property through various informal surveys have revealed its rich cultural heritage. The property is home to a host of wildlife species, including pronghorn, badger, burrowing owl and ferruginous hawk. Grassland birds such as meadowlark and shrike utilize the property, and playas onsite provide a critical resource for wildlife when wet: including hosting loafing habitats for migrating and wintering waterfowl.
