The Northeast Region includes counties:
Colfax, Guadalupe, Harding, Mora, Quay, San Miguel, Santa Fe, Taos, Torrance, and Union Counties.
The region encompasses the eastern flanks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and large areas of shortgrass prairie to the east of them. It is composed almost completely of private and State Trust Lands, portions of the Carson and Santa Fe National Forests, the Kiowa National Grasslands and some land grants. NMLC continues to work to preserve working ranches as well as key pieces of wildlife habitat and open space in this part of New Mexico.
