Boyd Farmland

Surrounded by a mature cottonwood bosque, this property is part of a larger piece continuously farmed by the same family for over 40 years, and includes pre-1907 water rights!

The Village of Corrales approached NMLC to help identify a final conservation easement project that will expend the remaining Farmland Preservation funds that were allocated through a Village bond measure in 2004.  NMLC and the Village identified a tract of land and worked with the landowners to secure an NRCS/FRPP grant.  NMLC also entered into a contractual agreement with the Village of Corrales to complete all work associated with the conservation easement.  With the easement in place, this productive farmland helps insulate the farming legacy of the Corrales area and New Mexico as a whole.
