George Dennis recently retired from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service after 20 years of public service including the last 10 years working with endangered species in New Mexico. He moved to the Carson area to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery, a bit more snow, and trout fishing. Academically trained as a fish biologist he has a PhD. in Marine Science and M.S. in Oceanography but after a lifetime quota of hurricanes in Florida he moved to New Mexico where he has had the opportunity to work with a wide range of other species including mammals, birds, reptiles, and plants, and engage in efforts with private landowners to conserve New Mexico’s unique wildlife. He, his wife Bonnie, and lurcher Ava enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, and fishing.
