Rhyen grew up in Ojo Sarco, a small village in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. From a young age, she was full of questions about the land, plants, and animals around her. With the support of her outdoorsy family and a strong sense of place, Rhyen developed a deep connection to the natural world and a passion for conservation. In 2025, Rhyen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Conservation Management with a minor in Forest Management from New Mexico Highlands University. Through her studies and time spent outdoors, she became especially interested in the relationships between people and the landscapes they depend on.
Rhyen is excited to be part of efforts that help protect and care for the land, especially in the places she has always called home. Outside of work, Rhyen enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, and spending time with her dog in the mountains.
