Ancones Ranch
With magnificent views of the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Ancones Ranch is a stunning property located near the picturesque Village of Los Ojos in Rio Arriba County.
The property consists primarily of irrigated hayfields with a mature riparian gallery forest along a one-mile stretch of Rio Chama that runs through the middle of the ranch.
NMLC secured partial funding for this project through the New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, and then approached the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF) to serve as a conservation partner.
NMLC and NMDGF will co-hold the easement and work together to maintain the conservation values of this spectacular property.
