Blackington Mountain Ranch
Gifted to the landowner by her mother more than 30 years ago, the property is situated about 14 miles northeast of the village of San Antonio, NM, not far from the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge to the north, and the USFWS Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge to the south. The property and surrounding area offer spectacular views of grassland valleys, mesas, and various mountain ranges. Historically utilized for livestock production, the ranch continues to be used for beef production.
Diverse flora and fauna contribute to the significant natural habitat on the ranch, the protection of which will add to the larger body of relatively unfragmented natural habitat that is being protected in the large buffer area surrounding the nearby White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) as part of the Dept. of Defense’s Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration (REPI) Program.
